The first time I spent a night at a Rendezvous, as the sun settled behind the mountains
and the camp started to fill with flickering campfires and people walking around
by the glow of candle lanterns, I knew I wanted to be part of this for the rest of my life.
This camp was above 7,000 feet elevation and is bordered to the West with mountain peaks between
10,000 and 14,000 feet elevation.
I designed and created my beaded mocassins,
neckware (Choker), and Possibles bag.
I designed it, based on available patterns, but my Ribbon Shirt was created by Patti Slade, aka "Horse Woman."
My hat and the beadwork on it were purchased.
While the beadwork may have been, my hat was not ‘period’
and I hoped that nobody was familiar with the Awes'Trail tribe or spoke “Awesie” fluently.
I was informed that the Awes'Trailians derived their name from their ‘Awesome Trailing’ ability.
The Awes'Trailian tribe is reputed among some sources to be an extremely southern branch of the Fugarway Indians,
though I cannot cite any specific authoritative source for this information.
